ABOUT THIS WEBSITE

Purpose

The publications on this website aim to contribute to sustainable development: the process aimed at creating a society that is prosperous, socially inclusive and environmentally sustainable. Five books of varying lengths discuss and offer alternatives for our monetary system, profit-oriented enterprise, and mainstream economic science. They also discuss the outlines of a Fourth Way: an alternative to right and left wing ideology as well as the Third Way, the combination of right-wing economic and left-wing social policies that gathered momentum in the 1990s.

For whom?

The publications are for people who are eager to see society find a way out of the 2007 crisis and are concerned about the current state of the world and the fate of future generations. They are also for those who are starting to recognize that the policy recommendations resulting from mainstream economics do not offer solutions to today’s problems. And the publications are for those who see the need for society to really start addressing its social and environmental problems.

Sustainable development – The Fourth Way

The books that can be downloaded from this website discuss what is needed for sustainable development, including an overhaul of our monetary system, a new economics, and new forms of enterprise. One of the books, The Common Sense Manifesto, defines the drive for sustainable development as a set of policies that is called the The Fourth Way. The Fourth Way offers an alternative to right and left wing ideology as well as the Third Way, the combination of right-wing economic and left-wing social policies that gathered momentum among European social-democratic parties in the 1990s.
